Increasing technical thickness

The most important functions of a thermal insulation material used for refrigeration installations are condensation control and energy saving during a long period of time. As time goes by, moisture can accumulate inside the insulation, producing an increase of thermal conductivity. This also means that energy loss increases and the insulation superficial temperature decreases. When the superficial temperature is lower than the dew point, condensation is formed.
A continual control of condensation is determined by two factors:
- A low value of λ that implies a smaller insulation thickness.
- A high value of μ that guarantees the behavior of the insulation material during the whole time that the installation is used.
This combination avoids penetration risks and moisture accumulation.
